Ba Dum Tss - Button

There is always room for this classic sound effect after someone (or you) tells a bad joke.

Badumtss drum sound effect is many times heard after a punchline has been told (called a percussive sting).

"ba dum" is the sound of the snare drum and "tss" is the sound of the cymbal.

This badumtss sound effect is often used in a sarcastic manner after a cliched or bad joke.

“Would you like some fish sticks, sir? What? You would? What are you, some kind of gay fish?”

There is no clear front runner, but “ba dum tsh”, “ba-dum ching” and “ba dum tiss” are often used. You may also see “ba-dum ching" or other phonetic variations.
